Well, where to begin…. It all started when I saw my first furry animal at 2 years of age. It was a connection that is hard to put into words. They love you, forgive you and are always ready for more…. More hugging, petting, licking and always more food!! Yumm! We had so much in common. The bond with animals has never been broken. After experiencing over 30 species of animals it was only natural for me to work with my collective group of co-workers, friends, trainers and animal lovers to develop products that would make life kinder, gentler and easier to communicate with our furry friends. In 1988 I started showing miniature horses and making harnesses and other tack. This lead to my connection with the Oregon humane Society working with Carol Scheively in the Humane Education department! What delight filled my heart to involve children with the joy of animals. We teach children to be responsible pet guardians, while having a load of fun! Our miniature stallion, Legacy, teaches the children why he doesn’t like pepperoni pizza and why a dog should not chase a cat. We share how to trim Legacy’s feet and Bobbi, (our dog, you read lots about her!) toes and why we should all brush our teeth. We always close with all the children joining Legacy in a rowdy rendition of the Hokey Pokey!
Researching with the Oregon Humane Society and the veterinarians I worked with, I started creating specialized training tools for dogs. My goal was that the product had to be safe, comfortable, easy and effective in communicating to the canine venue.
I hope you’ll visit often as I share our best kept secrets to training our beloved best friends, sharing stories of these wonderfully crazy companions and perhaps learn some new tricks.
There ya have it! Woof! Let’s have fun!
